I have the honour to forward herewith for

Your Lordship's information a copy of a report (with

plan) on an expedition made to Chinese territory by

certain temporary officers of the Medical Department

with the purpose of conveying some 190 lepers from Hong

Kong to the Maryknoll Mission Lepers' Settlements at

Gaiman, Kwongtung Province. The officers engaged, Mr.

F.W. Kendall, Mr. E.L. Curtis and Dr. A. Sporer

displayed a highly commendable courage and devotion to

duty.
